AMC Theatres parent AMC Entertainment Holdings reported third-quarter 2026 total revenue of $1,711.1 million and Adjusted EBITDA of $347.5 million on 4 November 2026, both all-time quarterly highs for the world’s largest cinema chain, according to the company’s earnings release. Net earnings were $109.3 million, against a year-earlier net loss of $298.2 million. Chairman and CEO Adam Aron said on the results call that AMC has “recovered” from its post-Covid trough, Deadline reports.

For exhibitors and studio distribution teams, the print is a clean test of whether the 2026 theatrical rebound is landing in chain cash flow, not only in weekend charts. AMC’s release and Aron’s remarks frame the quarter as volume plus premium formats and loyalty, not a one-title spike: Variety and THR both tie the run to titles including Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey on AMC screens.
Revenue, EBITDA and attendance
Total revenue rose 31.6% year on year to $1,711.1 million. Admissions contributed $953.5 million, food and beverage $589.4 million and other theatre revenue $168.2 million. Adjusted EBITDA nearly tripled to $347.5 million, with the company citing an Adjusted EBITDA margin of 20.3%, more than double the 9.4% recorded in Q3 2025. Aron said the company also set an all-time record for revenue per patron.
Attendance reached 74.9 million, up 28.3%. US markets rose 23.3% to 52.1 million visits; international markets rose 41.5% to 22.8 million. US segment revenue was $1,299.1 million and international $412.0 million. Average screens were slightly lower at 9,177 versus 9,354 a year earlier.
Nine-month revenue stood at $4,353.2 million (+22.3%), with Adjusted EBITDA of $707.2 million (+178.1%). The nine-month GAAP net loss narrowed to $19.2 million from $505.0 million. Operating cash flow for the quarter was $176.6 million, against a $14.9 million use of cash a year earlier.
Balance sheet and outlook
On 5 October 2026 AMC completed a $3.97 billion refinancing covering approximately 97% of its debt, extending maturities to late 2031 and 2033 and, the company says, simplifying the capital structure and cutting the cost of capital. Aron told investors the move lets AMC “move forward from a position of significantly increased balance sheet strength,” Deadline quotes. Cash excluding restricted balances was $751.9 million at quarter-end, more than double the $365.8 million a year earlier.
Aron pointed to an October domestic box office about 35% above the same month in 2025 and listed remaining 2026 titles including I Play Rocky, Wild Horse Nine, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Dune: Part Three, Avengers: Doomsday and Jumanji: Open World. He said AMC expects positive free cash flow for full-year 2026 and argued that the remaining slate can push domestic and global box office to their highest full-year levels in seven years; Deadline relays his view that US box office could clear $10 billion or more. Our reading
Two straight record quarters and a swing to GAAP profit matter more than any single weekend for buyers who price exhibition risk. The hard facts are the $1.71bn revenue print, $347.5m Adjusted EBITDA, $109.3m net income and the October refinancing. Whether “recovered” sticks depends on Q4 delivery against Aron’s slate list and on whether free cash flow stays positive once holiday costs and film rent settle.
