South International Series Festival and venture fund Mira Anta are launching South Investors Week, a new professional financing gathering in Cádiz from 30 April to 5 May 2027, coinciding with the festival’s fifth edition, Audiovisual451 reported on 4 November. The organisers say the week is meant to put specialised audiovisual finance next to producers, platforms and technology companies during the same Cádiz window.

Key facts

  • Event: South Investors Week, Cádiz, 30 April–5 May 2027
  • Partners: South International Series Festival and Mira Anta; both sit with Andalusian group Womack, which also backs Mira Entertainment Capital (platform inside Mira Anta)
  • Host festival: fifth edition of South, same dates, after a planned shift from autumn to spring
  • Programme outline: project and investment presentations, pitch sessions, one-to-one investor–producer meetings, financing and business-model debates, networking
  • Audience named by organisers: investment funds and financial entities, producers, platforms, technology firms and other audiovisual value-chain companies; Mira Anta Media Capital Fund I fundraising target €80m ($89.4m) per Portal de Cádiz (raise target, not money raised)

Why Cádiz, and why spring 2027

Festival press had already locked the fifth edition to 30 April–5 May 2027 when Womack, the Junta de Andalucía, the Ayuntamiento de Cádiz and the Diputación agreed a multi-year Cádiz commitment in January 2026, moving South from its autumn slot into spring from 2027. The fourth edition still runs 30 October–4 November 2026. South Investors Week therefore arrives as an industry layer on a calendar change that was already public, not as a free-standing market with its own city bid.

Audiovisual451 attributes the Investors Week aim to the organisation as bringing investment closer to the industry, opening financing routes and creating collaboration among companies, producers, investors and other strategic agents, and says the event intends to gather a large number of international financing firms specialised in audiovisual. No invited-fund list, application deadlines or ticket prices were published with the launch copy.

How the week is meant to run

South Investors Week will sit inside South 2027’s professional programme with its own agenda, Audiovisual451 reports. The advertised mix is familiar market architecture: project and investment-opportunity presentations, pitches, one-to-ones between investors and producers, debates on financing and business models, and networking rooms. The stated invite list runs from funds and banks to producers, platforms, tech companies and other value-chain players. That is broader than a pure project market and closer to a company-and-infrastructure finance forum, which matches how Mira Anta is described in the same piece.

No selection size, number of tables, or whether meetings will be curated or open was disclosed. The report does not name a market director separate from the quoted Mira and Anta executives.

Womack, Mira Anta and who is on the record

Both the festival and Mira Entertainment Capital, the platform that takes part in Mira Anta, sit behind Andalusian-origin Womack Group, Audiovisual451 states. José Carlos Conde, president of Mira Entertainment Capital and CEO of Womack Group, said Spanish audiovisual has talent, production capacity and growing international reach but “needs new financial tools and specialised capital to develop all its potential,” and framed Mira Anta as a pioneering investment model the group wants to bring to the wider industry through South Investors Week. Sergio Torras Soler, described as a financier and driver of Mira Entertainment Capital and of Mira Anta’s development, said audiovisual needs a new relationship with capital in which investment can support companies, infrastructure, technologies and business models, not only production financing. Leandro Serrano Porras of Anta Asset Management said the sector offers relevant investment opportunities but needs specialised knowledge and structures, and that the week should bring investment closer to industry professionals and favour new alliances. All three quotes are attributed via Audiovisual451; FilmBunch has not independently re-interviewed them.

Portal de Cádiz, covering the same launch on 4 November, identifies Mira Anta Media Capital Fund I, FCR, as a specialised vehicle for audiovisual companies, productions and assets with a fundraising target of €80m ($89.4m at the ECB reference rate of 4 November 2026), managed by Anta Asset Management inside Corporación Financiera Azuaga. That figure is a raise target, not a confirmed amount raised. Audiovisual451’s launch copy did not carry the fund size.

The Spain financing story sits with other recent FilmBunch market and money pieces such as Busan’s ACFM investor agenda, EloElo’s $80m Series C and Japan’s IP Market return to Cannes in May 2027. Domestic theatrical context includes La bola negra among Spain’s top Spanish-language grossers. More coverage is under Festivals & Markets.

Our reading

For producers and financiers, the useful test is whether South Investors Week publishes a curated buyer or LP list and a project or company track with clear submission rules before spring 2027, or stays a branded networking week beside the festival. The next evidence is the first accredited fund roster, any ticketed company track, and whether deals or term-sheet language appear in post-event reporting rather than only attendance claims.
