The Torino Film Festival has published the full programme for its 44th edition, running from Tuesday 24 November to Wednesday 2 December 2026 under artistic director Giulio Base. The official programme book lists 120 titles across three competitions and three non-competitive sections. Roland Joffé’s November 1963 opens the festival at the Teatro Regio, with a Marilyn Monroe retrospective marking the centenary of her birth. The slate sits beside this month’s Cairo and Mar del Plata line-ups as a mid-size European A-list stop after AFM week.

Key facts

  • Edition: 44th Torino Film Festival, 24 November–2 December 2026; organised by the Museo Nazionale del Cinema
  • Scale: 120 titles (Base: about 5,000 screened); three competitions of 16 films each; Fuori Concorso, Zibaldone and Marilyn Monroe retrospective
  • Opening: November 1963 (Roland Joffé) at Teatro Regio, 24 November, 17:00; awards ceremony 2 December, 18:00, Cinema Massimo Sala 1
  • Guests: twelve Stelle della Mole, from John Travolta and Isabelle Huppert to Pamela Anderson and Josh Safdie
  • Tickets: €8 full / €6 reduced; 5-ticket carnet €30; 10-ticket carnet €60; season pass €120

Base keeps the festival deliberately lean. In his programme note he says the selection committee of young programmers sifted roughly five thousand titles and settled on a slate that a determined viewer can still follow in full. The festival will again skip television series, a choice he frames as a defence of theatrical cinema. Cinematografo published a matching section-by-section rundown on 5 November.

Our reading

The slate lands in the same November window as the Cairo International Film Festival and follows Mar del Plata’s opening earlier this week. For buyers and festival programmers the practical read is a complete competition slate already published, a heavy guest list, and a retrospective that doubles as centenary programming between AFM week and the winter awards calendar.

The title-by-title list above follows the official programme book and Cinematografo’s section rundown; any later additions or withdrawals will show on the festival site.
